Order a card reader

In order to accept credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay in-person, you need a card reader. Readers can be purchased from Stripe here - https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/shop. A list of supported readers can be found below.

Set up your reader

Once you receive your card reader, it's time to set it up. While certain steps may vary slightly based on the reader you have, the process should remain the same.

1. Install / charge the battery

Remove the cover. Align the gold connectors and slide in the battery. Charge the reader using the included cable. Hold down the power button on the right side until the screen turns on.

2. Connect to the internet

Swipe right from the left edge of the screen to open the Settings menu. Enter the admin PIN 07139. In the Network menu, connect to your Wi-Fi.

3. Register with Stripe

In the Settings menu of the reader, select Generate pairing code.

In your Stripe dashboard, navigate to Payments > Terminal > Readers. Click Register reader and enter the pairing code from the reader. Follow the prompts to complete the registration process.

Additional documentation can be found here - https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/connect-reader?terminal-sdk-platform=server-driven&reader-type=internet

4. Register with Vygor

5. Test the connection

To test if a reader is connected, open your Vygor dashboard > Point of Sale > add an item to cart > under Payment, click Continue > Terminal > Select Terminal.

If you see your reader name, congratulations! You are now ready to handle in-person payments.
